Linden and Fenton Dining and Nightlife: October 2026 Guide

The new paved trail along the shore of Silver Lake in early October, with golden trees, a wooden boardwalk section, and warm afternoon light

October 2026 brought Linden and Fenton a grand opening worth celebrating: the ChoiceOne Bank Trail, the newest section of the LAFF Pathway, opened for use on October 3 and now connects the two downtowns along the shore of Silver Lake. That makes this the perfect month to plan a day of touring, trail-walking, and dining around the Big Sky Development model home at 5483 Championship Drive. This guide covers the new trail, the latest food and drink openings, and the local businesses and restaurants luxury buyers keep returning to near Fairways of Spring Meadows.

A Grand Opening Just Connected Linden and Fenton: The ChoiceOne Bank Trail

The headline news this week is not a restaurant, it is a two-mile multi-use trail that stitches the whole area together. The ChoiceOne Bank Trail, Phase Two of the LAFF Pathway built by LAFF Pathway, Inc. (named for Linden, Argentine Township, Fenton, and Fenton Township), opened to the public on October 3, 2026 after a ribbon cutting on September 29. The paved, shared-use path follows the north shore of Silver Lake beside Silver Lake Road, mixing smooth asphalt with wooden boardwalk sections, and links the City of Linden to the City of Fenton.

The trailhead sits near the corner of Silver Lake Road and Jennings Road in Fenton, beside Silver Lake Park at 16100 Jennings Road, a 37-acre park with a beach, pavilions, and paddling on Silver Lake. From there the new segment ties into the previously completed LAFF path through Argentine Township, giving the corridor more than five miles of connected, non-motorized trail for walking, running, and biking. See coverage from MLive, ABC12, and The Lasco Press.

Why it matters for buyers: the trail makes the Linden and Fenton lifestyle literally walkable and bikeable between towns. Park at Silver Lake Park, ride into either downtown for coffee or dinner, and you have just experienced the kind of everyday recreation a home in the Fairways of Spring Meadows is positioned for. LAFF's annual Paddle & Pedal Festival fundraiser supports a future Phase Three extension toward Fenton Road, per LAFF Pathways.

Fresh Off the Press: What Just Opened and What Is Coming

A few food-and-drink stories are moving in Fenton right now, confirmed through local press coverage this fall.

  • El Roy's Tex-Mex is open in downtown Fenton, 201 S. Leroy St. The new Tex-Mex restaurant sits above LeRoy's Lounge and serves Baja shrimp tacos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, house-made queso, and signature margaritas, open Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM, per Banana 101.5 and the restaurant's own site (phone 810-936-0442).
  • Cascara Coffee is coming to downtown Fenton, 104 S. Leroy St. The roaster announced its third Michigan cafe in late September, taking the former Bridge Street Exchange storefront and sharing the building with Fenton Pilates Studio. The space is under construction with no firm opening date yet; Cascara's other two Michigan cafes are on North Linden Road in Clio and at 1420 N. Rochester Rd in Rochester Hills, per What Now Detroit and WFNT.
  • 2941 Mediterranean Street Food is returning to Fenton. The popular spot, known for flatbreads, falafel, tandoori chicken, Moroccan lamb, and build-your-own bowls, is relocating to 3180 W. Silver Lake Road, Fenton (phone 810-208-7014). A "Coming Soon" sign is up; the official site lists a spring 2026 opening window, and an exact day had not been announced as of early October, per 2941's own site and WCRZ.
